Peter Eigen

Peter Eigen, Dr.jur., former manager at the World Bank for programs in Africa and Latin America and director of the Regional Office East Africa is founder of Transparency International (TI), a world-wide NGO devoted to transparency and responsibility in international development.
He taught international trade law and political sciences at Georgetown University, Frankfurt University, KSG/ Harvard University, SAIS/ Johns Hopkins University and Free University Berlin. He is member of the advisory committees of the Center for International Development (KSG/ Harvard), the UN Global Compact and the Commission on Globalization of the State of the World Forum.
He received many honors, the latest being “European of the Year 2004” of Readers Digest.
Transparency International with its President Peter Eigen was nominated for the "Change the World - Best Practice Award 2004" of the Club of Budapest.
