H.E. Pir Vilayat Inayat-Khan †
Spiritual leader, lecturer. A pioneering veteran in meditation, in his work "East meets West", Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan allied mysticism with concreteness, ecstasy with intellect, asceticism with achievement. He was a leading researcher in comparative methods of meditation in the traditional schools, updating them to the needs of people in our day and age and throwing light on our problems and the direction we choose to fulfill our life's purposes. He stressed the transforming effect of interfacing psychology, science and music upon our understanding, our personality, and our motivations in our everyday life. Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan was the spiritual leader of the Universal Sufi Order.
H.E. Pir Vilayat Inayat-Khan died in spring 2004.
