Zev Naveh

Born 1919 in Amsterdam, since 1935 in Israel. Married, son and daughter. 1938-1945.Cofounder and member of collective settlement Mazuba in Western Galilee, shepherd and cattle breeder. MSc.1950 (Agronomy) and PhD 1960 (Range Ecology) Hebrew University, Jerusalem. 1950-1965 Range and Pasture Research Scientist, at Governmental Vulkani Agricultural Research Institute. 1958-1960 Visiting Research Scientist at School of Forestry, University of California Berkeley. 1962-65 Seconded by Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of International Cooperation to Northern Tanzania Research Station for range and pasture research and development in semi-arid Massailand and humid slopes of Mt. Meru and Kilimansharo.
Since 1965 at Technion, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering with secondary appointment at Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning, teaching general agronomy, systems ecology and landscape ecology, restoration ecology and biological erosion control.
Retirement 1988 as Professor Emeritus. Presently dealing with theoretical aspects of transdisciplinary landscape ecology, and regional sustainable development towards the information society.
