Gunter Pauli

Gunter Pauli is founder and director of the ZERI Foundation, an organization dedicated to achieving efficient production for all goods and services society needs without any form of waste. This goal of Zero Emissions production and consumption imitates nature by using the output from one process to become the input for another. ZERI uses this model to support business, architecture, ecology and agriculture projects all over the world.

Recognized in 1983 as one of the ten outstanding young persons in the world by the International Junior Chamber, Mr. Pauli has a lifetime track record of achievements in creating and supporting sustainable businesses as well as contributions to theories on management and sustainability. Pauli served as president and CEO of Ecover where he built the world's first "zero emissions" factory. In 1993 the the United Nations Environment Program gave Ecover the Global 500 Role of Honor Award. He is a founder and past president of Worldwatch Institute Europe and author of a biography on Dr. Aurelio Peccei, founder and president of the Club of Rome. In 1994 he was selected as one of the 100 Global Leaders of Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum.
