H.E. Karan Singh
Spiritual leader. With deep insight into the Indian cultural tradition, as well as wide exposure to Western literature and civilisation, Karan Singh has been recognized as an outstanding thinker, author and leader in India and abroad. A renowned orator, he gives lectures in philosophy, culture, politics, and the environment. In his varied career Karan Singh held the portfolios of Health and Family Planning, as well as of Education and Culture in the government of India. Currently he is Chairman of the Temple of Understanding, an international interfaith organization and member of the Unesco International Commission on Education for the 21st Century. He is also Chairman of the Auroville Foundation and President of the International Center for Science, Culture and Consciousness of New Delhi.
