Sir Sigmund Sternberg
Sir Sigmund Sternberg is a business man with lifelong involvement in the British Labour Party and a deep commitment to dialogue between Jews and other faiths. He is a member of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. He is also President of The Reform Synagogues of Great Britain.
He is The Patron of the International Council of Christians and Jews and co-founder with Sheikh Dr. Zaki Badawi (the chairman of the Council of Imams and Mosques) of The Three Faiths Forum. The Forum seeks to stimulate religious encounter in a climate of equality between Christians, Muslims and Jews.
Sir Sigmund has been active in the Fabian Society and was a founder and deputy chairman of the Labour Finance and Industry Group. He is also an actively involved Rotarian.
His manifold philanthropic interests include the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (senior vice president), The Institute for Archaeo-Metallurgical Studies (chairman) and Sternberg Centre for Judaism (Life President).
