Liv Ullmann
Actress, director. A world-renowned film and stage actress, film director and best-selling author, she is also Vice President International of the International Rescue Commitee (IRC) and since 1980, Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef). She became world famous for her roles in Ingmar Bergman films and received many acting honors, including more awards as Best Actress by the New York Film Critics than any other actress of her time. Currently she is directing her second motion picture. Her book "Changing", translated into more than 24 languages, established Liv Ullmann as a serious writer of exceptional ability. More important to her than her career at this time is her work for social causes. In 1981 she received the United Nations Silver Peace Medal.
